Organisations may also submit one application to the Community Participation Grants Program 2026, which is also funded through the Community Support Fund.
The total funding pool available under the Gambling Harm Minimisation Grant Program 2026 and the Community Participation Grants Program 2026 is $1 million.
About Gambling Harm
Gambling harm is the negative impacts from someone’s gambling, including impacts to mental and physical health, relationships, and finances.
Harms can range from minor to severe. The level of gambling participation or losses for someone to experience different levels of harm is dependent on personal circumstances and can vary between gamblers.
Gambling harm impacts more than just the individual gambler. It is estimated that harm from one person’s gambling can negatively affect between five to ten other people.
We also know that people experiencing harm are more likely to experience other issues in their life. People at moderate to high risk of gambling harm were also at higher risk of alcohol-related harm, reported higher rates of smoking and substance use, and were at higher levels of psychological distress.
About the Community Support Fund
The Community Support Fund is primarily funded through a percentage of the profits of electronic gaming machines (EGMs or pokies) in Tasmanian hotels, clubs, and casinos.
The Community Support Fund is described in Section 151A of the Gaming Control Act 1993 and this Grants Program is delivered in line with the Regulations.
