Program Details and Eligibility

Applications for Round Three of the Disaster Ready Fund are now open and will close at 5:00PM AEDT on Wednesday, 2 April 2025.

What is the Disaster Ready Fund?

The Australian Government's Disaster Ready Fund provides up to $200 million per year to fund projects that build resilience to prepare for, or reduce the risk of, future natural hazard impacts across Australia.

The Australian Government designs and funds the Disaster Ready Fund and selects successful projects. State and territory governments administer the program within their jurisdictions.

Resilience and Recovery Tasmania (RRT) in the Department of Premier and Cabinet is the Lead Agency for the Disaster Ready Fund in Tasmania.

Who is eligible?

Applicants must have:

  • an Australian Business Number (ABN); or
  • be a First Nations organisation or not-for profit; and
  • be an entity with the capacity to enter into a legally binding agreement.

Co-contributions:

Applicants need to make a co-contribution. This can include in-kind contributions such as wages, supplies, materials, or specific equipment as long as these can be directly attributed to the project.
