Recovery and Restoration Grants - Bushfire Event - December 2025

Program Overview

These grants are available to Tasmanian residents only.

This application form is for people seeking one or more of the following financial supports:

  • Temporary Living Expenses Support

  • Repair and Restoration Grants

  • Replacement of Household Items

General Eligibility

To be eligible for any Recovery and Restoration Grant, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Income threshold
Your household income must be within the Services Australia (Centrelink) Low Income Health Care Card limits.

2. Assets
You are not eligible if you hold more than $35,000 in assets (excluding primary residence).

3. Proof of Identity
You must provide acceptable identification documents.

4. Residential Status
Your principal place of residence must be located within the declared area of the emergency event in or around Dolphin Sands.

5. Insurance Status
You must have no or inadequate insurance to cover the loss or damage experienced.

Acquittal Requirements

Any funding provided under this program must be acquitted.

This means that if you receive a grant, you must provide documented evidence showing that the funds were spent in accordance with the grant’s terms and conditions. Failure to do so may result in the grant funds needing to be repaid.

The Department of Premier and Cabinet may also engage third parties to assist in undertaking an assessment of claims made in this application form.
